2022 CAMPAING

After an almost 3 year hiatus (thank you, pandemic!), we joined forces with other animal welfare groups and individuals to plan and execute the 2022 Malambo Sterilization Campaign.

Malambo is a municipality south of Barranquilla, Colombia. It is an underserved area where residents sometimes struggle to make ends meet. The dog and cat overpopulation crisis in this area is severe. While we don’t have data that tells us approximately how many stray animals reside in Malambo, we know this community needs our help in helping alleviate the pet overpopulation crisis.

When we help the animals, we help the community, providing a One Health/One Welfare approach.

Our Malambo Sterilization Campaign aimed to spay and neuter 300 dogs and cats within 3 days. We worked with local veterinarians and 8 rockstar Canadian and American volunteers to spay/neuter 334 cats and dogs. PLUS, we visited a local dog shelter to donate funds and cuddle some adorable doggos!

Thank you to our 2022 volunteers for helping us get back on our feet after our 3-year hiatus! Ariela, Brittany, Lisa, Julia, Cassie, Avery, Melissa and Pete!
